Hi. I’m Anne Hubben.
(Sidebar for the phonetically inclined: It’s German and pronounced hoo-ben).
I coach creatives who are looking for their right-fitting work in the world.
Some of the happiest people I know are those who have found a vehicle for their gifts in the most roundabout way. As your creative career coach, I hold the space for you to explore your options, eliminate what you already notice isn’t working well for you, and make space for the new to show up. That might mean a whole new job, reinventing yourself in a role you already love, or starting a creative business of your own.
I also do creative recruiting, staffing, and placement for companies in the creative industries who need talent, primarily in the digital space. I’m a well-seasoned ‘go between’ for creative people and where they land.
The clients I recruit for are ad agencies, design firms, startups in their second round of funding or further, and internal creative departments on the client side.
The candidates I coach and place run the gamut from visual and UX (user experience) designers, art directors, copywriters, and creative directors, to project managers, account services, and front end technology specialists. I work with creatives at all experience levels, from recent college graduates to Chief Creative Officers.
I started my career working with creative talent in NYC over 15 years ago. Today, I work virtually with creatives and agencies all throughout the U.S. and internationally.
With me you get a quick response time, no fussing, straight to the heart insight and acumen. Plus instincts in spades. My style has been described as compassionate, down to earth, and approachable. I’m told that my strongest skill set as a career coach and recruiter is my innate ability to listen, read between the lines, and suss out the nuances in relationships.
My resume includes working as a Creative Recruiter at Digitas, Organic, Artisan Talent, Evie Porwick/FPO, and for myself as Ruby Creatives. I graduated from Coach U in 2009 and have a BA in Art History from Boston University. (Are you on LinkedIn? Let’s connect.)
I also occasionally contribute elsewhere.
When I’m not working, I focus on unwinding and connecting with the people who are important to me.
Most likely, you’ll find me in a hot yoga class (or hydrating for one) or walking my dogs, Ruby and Sir. On weekends, I’m probably pacing myself through a new vegetarian recipe, or (because everybody needs a dirty little secret) catching up on my queue of reality TV.
If you’re a creative wondering about the next iteration of your work in the world, I’d love to meet you and learn more about your dreams. Check out how coaching with me works.
